True Romance?

Romance By Moonlight

Romance.  Most of us picture  it something like this picture.  Some burly, yet sensitive man with wonderful biceps and a six pack and tight pants passionately taking us into his arms and planting one on us under the moonlight.   Ahem, anyway back to reality. What I really think is that when you are really into someone it doesn’t really matter where you are, the weather, time of day etc.  You just want to be with that person and the rest of the world fades into the background.  When you look into each others eyes and nothing else matters.  Those are the moments that are so rare and so memorable.  I can say that those rare moments in my life when I have felt that way about someone it felt like I was in the picture above.  Ahhh memories.  It is unrealistic to believe that someone will always make you feel like the lil lady in the picture above.  But I do think that if you put your partner first in your relationship and it is reciprocated.  It makes for a long lasting relationship.  Just my thoughts for today.

Inspiration comes in unlikely places

I have a good friend who’s name is Sam.  Yesterday I found out that Sam is the bomb in the romance department even though he has been married to his lovely wife Cathy for over 15 years.  He’s not flashy by any means.  He is a hard working, honest guy who owns a modest carpet cleaning business in Ohio (shout out to Sam here  which is sexy in and of itself right?  Anyway, Sam knows that I started this blog and it sparked a conversation between us on how he has stood the test of time with his sweetheart of many years.  It’s not what you might imagine though.  No regular gift of flowers, jewels and lingerie (saves that stuff for Valentines Day).  He told me that every day he is committed to making her feel special.  Every day when he gets home from work he decides to leave his stress outside of his home.  He consciously decides that no matter what has transpired that day or what he has dealt with he will not allow it to affect the rest of his day and the time he has with Cathy.  He asks about her  day and puts his own concerns aside.  In turn, Cathy feels noticed and appreciated.  Sam gets his reward later 😉 .  Simple yet genius.   Remember what’s important and sometimes that’s not always YOU.

Your tone and body language can make all the difference when you speak to some one.   You can tell your lover the sky is blue in an angry tone or you can say it with love and tenderness.  It all goes back to the saying “People will forget what you say but always remember how you made them feel”.  Create the feeling of love by paying attention to details.  Maintain eye contact, a light touch on the arm, and a gentle loving tone will pay off in the romance department. We all want to feel special.

Smell the roses!

It’s Spring and romance is in the air!  I’m excited to be on this journey with you all the way back to all things inspirational and romantic.
